The wisteria had twisted its way into the magnolia with great strangling cords. Now it's been cut away, la Grande Dame (the ancient magnolia) is smiling, enjoying her old freedom.

vita rustica

I have moved north of Winchester where my closest neighbours are Mr and Mrs Robin in the wisteria who are both friendly and melodious. Mr Mole and a whole fraternity of rabbits are in the vicinity and a handsome heron drops in on sunny afternoons. He's jolly difficult to photograph but I hope you can see him at some point. Meanwhile, we're wrestling with horticulture and negotiating with builders.
